For Photo Saint Germain, Caroline Corbasson and Andréa Montano join forces by delivering a work uniting two sciences that are a priori distant: astrophysics and botany. These two fields of research inspired them to create a photographic series entitled “Tracks” (rails, paths, tracks).
The charcoal prints, presented in diptychs, reveal a distant filiation between the vegetable and mineral kingdoms.
Passed under a black light, the petals of a flower are adorned with phosphorescent spots resulting from the phenomenon of pollination, but which under the lens of the artists become the seminal traces of the stars on their terrestrial offspring.
Caroline Corbasson is a visual artist born in 1989.
She has been developing for several years a work questioning the relationship between the infinitely small and the infinitely large, drawing her inspiration from science. Her drawings, sculptures and films meticulously scrutinize the mysteries of the Universe. Her collaborations with several observatories and laboratories have given rise to works that take a poetic look at research.
Andréa Montano is a photographer born in 1990.
Her work is nourished by painting, light and the suspended moments of Vermeer’s canvases, Caravaggio’s chiaroscuro, and more broadly the representation of the body through the centuries. He is interested in humans and the desire that animates them. His practice, exclusively in silver and medium format, often results in prints that he makes himself in the laboratory.

Pour Photo Saint Germain, Caroline Corbasson et Andréa Montano s’associent en livrant un travail unissant deux sciences a priori éloignées: l’astrophysique et la botanique. Ces deux champs de recherche leur inspire une série photographique intitulée « Tracks » (rails, chemins, traces).
Les tirages au charbon, présentés en diptyque, révèlent une filiation lointaine entre les règnes végétal et minéral.
Passées sous une lumière noire, les pétales d’une fleur se parent de taches phosphorescentes résultant du phénomène de pollinisation, mais qui sous l’objectif des artistes deviennent les traces séminales des astres sur leurs progénitures terrestres.
Caroline Corbasson est une artiste plasticienne née en 1989.
Elle développe depuis plusieurs années un travail interrogeant les relations entre l’infiniment petit et l’infiniment grand, en puisant son inspiration dans les sciences. Ses dessins, sculptures et films scrutent minutieusement les mystères de l’Univers. Ses collaborations avec plusieurs observatoires et laboratoires ont donné lieu à des travaux portant un regard poétique sur la recherche.
Andréa Montano est un photographe né en 1990.
Son travail est nourri par la peinture, la lumière et les instants suspendus des toiles de Vermeer, le clair-obscur de Caravage, et plus largement la représentation du corps à travers les siècles. Il s’intéresse aux humains et au désir qui les anime. Sa pratique, exclusivement argentique et au moyen format, aboutit souvent par des tirages qu’il réalise lui-même en laboratoire.
