I SHOT HIM DOWN
16.10 – 18.11.2012
A series of original paintings and drawings resulting from iconographic research at the Musée de la Résistance Nationale de Champigny-sur-Marne is here presented to the public. By evoking fights for liberty and at the same time calling the spectator to action, this exhibition questions current events through the means of representation of ‘history.’ In a period where the role of great men is to plant seeds of doubt rather than to grant certainty, the artist engages with a cultural landscape that works not to resolve crises but rather to create them. The installation is visible at both the vitrine at 18 rue Dauphine and in the gallery space at 13 bis rue de Nevers, where a shooting gallery invites the spectator to take up arms.
