It is possible to connect nearby stars with each other by imaginary lines.
A “constellation” is the random shape drawn from the traces of these projections on the celestial vault.
Thoughts of images, constellations of ideas that Chloé Vanderstraeten archives in plastic form, an ambient flow to understand the phenomena of the world in matter. Painting impregnates these captures with a gesture. It accentuates a modern myopia and grants us silent moments. The archive overlaps the fantasized images of a subjective present.
Anthropologist Tim Ingold speaks of a work of art “as the result of anthropological research”. It is possible to circulate between the archipelagos, crossing a mythology of time, going from one historical time to another. Images through which one travels and gets lost: one has to weave links to see stories and histories, to advance along moving routes to detect the ramifications of the present.

Bringing together a series of oil paintings on wood, Les formes du Monde is the first solo exhibition of Chloé Vanderstraeten, a French artist born in 1996.

La peinture imprègne ces captations d’un geste. Elle accentue une myopie moderne et nous octroie des instants silencieux. L’archive chevauche les images fantasmées d’un présent subjectif.
L’anthropologue Tim Ingold parle d’oeuvre d’Art “comme le résultat d’une recherche anthropologique”. Il est possible de circuler entre les archipels, traversant une mythologie d’époque, allant d’un temps historique à un autre. Des images à travers lesquelles on sillonne et on se perd : il faut tisser des liens pour y voir des histoires et des Histoires, avancer sur des itinéraires mouvants pour y déceler les ramifications du présent.

Réunissant un ensemble de peintures à l’huile sur bois, Les formes du Monde est la première exposition personnelle de Chloé Vanderstraeten, artiste française née en 1996.
